2002
5th International Larval Biology Meeting Vigo, Galicia, Spain September 15th to 20th, 2002 |
|
The Larval Biology Meetings started in 1993 as a biennial forum for work on the ecology and evolutionary biology of larval stages (or propagules) of all aquatic animals. The first meeting was held by the State University of New York, Stony Brook (USA). The second one was in 1995 at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution in Florida (USA). The third meeting was held in Melbourne, Australia in 1998. The fourth one was in 2000 in Santa Cruz (USA) at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The 2002 meeting will be hosted by the University of Vigo, Vigo, Galicia, Spain. Vigo is a fishing town of about 300.000 people on the atlantic coast of Spain, 30 km from Portugal border. The town is located at the Ría de Vigo, a long fjord with beautiful sandy beaches and rocky shores, protected from the Atlantic storms by three islands, Illas Cíes, that conform the Illas do Atlántico National Park, a superb diving and bird-watching site.
|
The Meeting will be held at Theatre García Barbón (Policarpo Sainz Street), a modern old theatre downtown, 5-10 minutes walking from meeting hotels and very close to restaurants, bars, cafés, shops, harbour and marina.
