ORIGINAL MAP OF ROYAL CASTLE OF BAIONA - XVI CENTURY

ISEF 2005 will be held in the State Hotel PARADOR, one of the jewels in the Spanish state hotels network. The Parador is placed into The  Royal Hill Castle, which is a symbol of The Royal Village of Baiona in a promenade surrounding with a splendid views over Atlantic horizon line of the Ria of Vigo, Cies and  Estelas Islands, and Bay of Baiona.

The arrival of Caravel La Pinta in 1493, Columbus’s the first ship with the news about the discovery of America, is the most important episode in the history of Baiona. The Old Town of Baiona was awarded Historically and Artistically Interesting Area in 1993.

Nowadays, Baiona is town of tourist of excellence, since Baiona is one of the most attractive coastal towns in Galicia (green community in the north-west of Spain). Galicia celebrates its first Holy Year of the new millennium in 2004, in honour of St. James in Santiago de Compostela (Xacobeo).

Baiona is connected by motorway from the city of Vigo (15 minutes far). Vigo is well communicated by means of a good network of motorways, its airport (Peinador) and its railway station. Santiago de Compostela (Labacolla airpot) and Porto-Portugal (Sa Carneiro airport) are useful international connections with Vigo.
