The Immunology group under the direction of Professor Africa González-Fernández is recognized internationally with publications in journals, several patents, projects (European, National, Regional, Foundations), invitations to congresses and holds several international and national collaborations.

Currently the group is focused on different research lines:
- NanoMedicine: Biocompatibility: toxicity and immune response to nanoparticles.
- Vaccines: Immune response to several prototypes using animal models.
- Immunotherapy: Development of human Monoclonal antibodies directed against human leukemia and inflammatory cells with potential in human immunotherapy.
- Generation of monoclonal antibodies with different applications:
- Marine field: identification of mussels, algae and marine toxins.
- Development of biosensor.
- Acs Mcs with applications in the marine field.
- Modelling the immune response.
