Alejandro Gómez Yepes was born in A Coruña, Spain, in November 1985. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from the University of Vigo, Spain in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
From June 2008 he works in the Applied Power Electronics Technology Research Group (APET) of the University of Vigo. He is currently holder of an FPI grant related to the project "Multilevel Multiphase Power Electronics Conversion Techniques Applied to AC Drives and Renewable Energy" funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. From April 2011 to July 2011, he joined the RCEEE Electric Machines and Drives group of Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom for a research stay. His research interests include digital control of power electronics converters, with special focus on power quality and ac drives.
He has authored more than 40 published technical papers in the field of power electronics. 18 of them are published in JCR-indexed journals. He is member of the IEEE, the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and the IEEE Power Electronics Society.
