Social Events

  • We are planning two social activities:

  • Thursday, August 31: A guided walking visit to the old quarters of Pontevedra (click here) (although in spanish, this link could also be useful)

  • Friday, September 1: A guided visit to Santiago de Compostela, where the gala dinner will take place.

Tourism

  • The workshop takes place in the capital of one of the four provinces of Galicia. It is located at the end of a large fjord, and thus there are, nearby, many beautiful beaches.

  • On the other hand Galicia has a very rich history that can be traced in the magnificent monuments and cozy old quarters, very appealing to wander about after a day of hard work. It is not casual that Galicia is, since the Middle Age, the destination of so many tourist/pilgrims!

  • Santiago de Compostela. A complete official website with lots of information about Santiago.

  • Turismo Rías Baixas. Info about the area of the Rías Baixas (Pontevedra’s province.)

  • Concello de Poio. A county near Pontevedra, with splendid beaches and Combarro, a beautiful village.

  • Atlantic Islands National Park (in spanish). A touch of Nature!

  • We do not have any specific plans with respect to these suggestions, but we recommend that you rent a car and visit them before or after the Workshop.
